History

The Christopher Laughlin School of Music started in 1996 as the Christopher Laughlin Classical Guitar Studio, occupying a one room office in Glenview, IL. At the time Christopher Laughlin had been a successful performing classical guitarist for many years, having toured across North America and in over 25 nations on five continents, and was an in-demand guitar teacher working at multiple conservatories and universities. He decided to form his own school in order to consolidate most of his teaching in one location. Over the years he gradually added more teachers, more programs, and more space. The CLSM currently has a faculty of 17 instructors who work with approximately 240 students per week.
