DJ Classes

New for 2016 - DJ Classes for Kids and Teens!

 

DJ apprenticeship: This course offers the basic understanding of loading tracks, creating effects and spinning desired music to build your DJ skills. You will progress into a DJ who can multitask several techniques such as looping, scratching, and creating beats. Once you have accomplished these techniques, you will be ready for DJ leadership. You will be required to use the APP DJay from the APP store. It is preferred that you use an iPad or device with iOS technology. The tutorial program is free and the upgrade is an inexpensive investment. free and the upgrade is an inexpensive investment. It is preferred that you also download the following apps on a laptop or mobile tablet Soundcloud, Audacity, Spotify trial version, Soulseek, and Dropbox. All of these programs are effective for storing, sharing, editing and downloading music. The DJ Leadership course will include the same tools but additional one will be available.

 

 

DJ Leadership: Experienced DJ's will develop comprehensive beats and layer tracks together to create unique sounds for their music collection. We will use beat making programs and recording tools. You will also test your skills live at real events! This course is for more ambitious learners or experienced DJ's.

Session 1, 8 weeks, 9/11/16 – 10/30/16

Sundays 1:30 - 3:00 PM (combined DJA and DJL)

Session 2, 8 weeks 11/6/16 – 1/15/17

Sundays 1:30 - 3:00 PM (combined DJA and DJL)

Session 3, 8 weeks 1/22/17 - 3/12/17

Sundays 1:00 - 2:30 (DJA)

Sundays 2:30 - 4:00 (DJL)

Session 4, 8 weeks 3/19/17/16 - 5/21/17 

Sundays 1:00 - 2:30 (DJA)

Sundays 2:30 - 4:00 (DJL)

 

Tuition: $240 per 8 week session

*Placement in our DJ class is not guaranteed. Factors affecting placement may include compatibility of age and experience among the students. Priority enrollment will be given to students in our private lesson program. The Christopher Laughlin School of Music may, at its sole discretion, refuse to  accept enrollment from any person into any of its programs.
